June flowers recap
What an incredible June it’s been!
In spite of the cool, wet weather, the garden really produced.
Several high points from the month include watching my 2 & 3 year old perennials really churning out to their full potential for the very first time.
Tall stemmed phlox, wispy white and purple Veronica, and paprika red yarrow were unforgettable.
And finally, I think I cracked the code on timing the planting of my hardy annuals. And boy did they become the backbone of bouquets since —even as of this writing— there’s yet to be a zinnia bloom in sight!
Snapdragons, agrostemma and of course, ranunculus, were the stars of the frost hardy bunch.
I’ve got more flower share / bouquet subscriptions than ever before - so my Friday delivery day is always a bright spot.
Four weeks of flowers from my farm to the tables around town is a real privilege!
With so many subscriptions, I only made it to the farmer’s market a couple of times.
But if I had to pick a favorite from this past month, it would definitely be my new obsession with garden roses!
While my plants are still quite young, each & every rose is exquisite! And the smell is so delicate and lovely.
I’m entranced by each one — and with 20 varieties growing — I’m nearly out of storage on my phone.
I cannot wait to see what July brings!
